American HO

selected scenes from the 'HO' layouts
'Prospect Valley'

'Prospect Valley' is the HO layout built by the American section of the club.

The design has been devised to encompass both an exhibition layout and a continuous run when assembled in the clubroom.

PV is 12ft long with a sector plate forming an 'L' shape to the layout.

Mike Carter, an NMRA award winner for his exquisite buildings and many articles published about construction and his build ability, has made the buildings for this layout.

Under the watchful eye of Tony Cane, the other members of the American HO group are providing skills such as track laying, electrics, scenery building and many other facets that go into building a successful layout.

The layout has been to various shows around the South and has been exhibited at our own show held on the 1st Saturday in November.

now dismantled.

The layout was in the form of a double deck system Joined by a Spiral. Here can be seen the levels being constructed.

Shown here is the sub baseboard built to carry the spiral over existing tracks on the lower level. This picture shows the first transitions from lower track to spiral. It also shows clearly the half join used to join each section.
