on 3rd November 2012
The town of High Wycombe is set in the valley and the school
is on the South side on the top of the hill.
How do I get to the Venue?
By Road.
Exiting the motorway at junction 4 take the A4010, signed Aylesbury. At this point you have to make a decision. Either use Park & Ride or try the school car park. See local map
For the Park & Ride turn left at the first roundabout and proceed to the entrance of the car park which is about 300 metres on your right.
To go directly to the venue proceed through 2 roundabouts until the 3rd where you turn left. The school is about 400 metres on the left.
Please be advised we do have parking control where you may be directed to various other parking areas.
By Rail..
The station is on the Marylebone to Princes Risborough, Chiltern Line with links to Birmingham. The station is in the town centre so Buses* (See below) or Taxis are a must. Buses go to the Bus Station.
By Bus.
We have introduced a FREE, yes Free Bus Service from the Railway Station to the venue in a Vintage 'RouteMaster' Greenline bus.(see Time Table)
Normal Buses leave Wycombe bus station at regular intervals during the day.
Any bus to ASDA or Cressex will deliver you close to the school.
What is this I hear about a Free Bus service!
For the past few years we have provided a FREE bus service to and from Wycombe Train station and we are continuing the service.
We use the services of a retired RouteMaster Greenline Bus privately owned by a local group. The Amersham and District Motorbus Society. www.amershammotorbussociety.co.uk
The service will commence at 10am from the Station forecourt and subsequently on the hour thereafter until 4pm. (see Time Table)
The bus will begin the return journey at 10.30am and continue at hourly intervals thereafter until 4.30pm. The last bus will leave at 5.05pm.
To assist with local support the bus will pickup from Castle Street, Oxford Road (Frogmoor) and Desborough Road (St Johns) before proceeding to the venue. The return journey will be the reverse.
Additional Parking.
Due to different park conditions we are using the Park & Ride facility opposite the Empire Cinema. A map showing where the PARK & RIDE is situated and where additional parking can be found here.
A Green Line shuttle bus will ferry you to and from the venue approx every 20 minutes. The collection point is outside 'Fired Earth' adjoining the cinema. (see Time Table)
What are the times of Opening?
Opening Time: 10.00
Closing Time: 17.00
What the entrance prices?
Adult: £4.50
Children: £3.50
Family (2+2): £11.00
Is there a Bring & Buy table?
Yes. We have again made provision for our clubs Bring & Buy table where you can purchase good second-hand model railway equipment.
We cannot be held responsible for defective locomotives and rolling stock as it is the purchaser who should ensure that the equipment works before buying. Every effort is made to ensure workability but as we are mostly selling on behalf of someone else this can become extremely difficult.
Forms are now available to download
Click here to download a copy of the Bring & Buy Form.
Available in either
PDF File MS Word or MS Excel XL
Can I Video or take photographs?
Video and Photographs for commercial use are not permitted unless by prior arrangement with the exhibition managing executive or the layout owner prior to the show opening.
Video and Photographs for personnel use are allowed but a word with the layout owner/operator would be appreciated as continual flash photography can distract the operator and cause errors and maybe stock damage.
We are not discouraging photography but a little thought before you click is all we ask.
Can I park for Free?
We have use of the school car park for about 200 cars. At the entrance to the school parking attendance will direct you, if the school is full, to various car parks surrounding the school where a 3 to 5 minute walk will bring you to the school. There is on street parking also available in surrounding streets.
Are refreshments available ?
We have supplied food for many years. Our ladies are there to serve freshly made sandwiches and home baked cakes, which have become our exhibition speciality, together with Tea, Coffee and soft drinks and a selection of confectionary.
We are indebted to our ladies, wives, and friend's of our members, who provide this excellent service throughout the day.
Are programmes available and how much are they?
With considerable persuasion we have secured many supporters who have taken advertising space in our programme. We are indebted to these sponsors who provide us with financial help to put on our show each year.
Our programme once again has been professionally printed to give the visitor a map of the halls and a description of the layouts, traders, manufacturers and supporting features.
Once again the programmes will be on sale for a mere 50 pence per copy.
Is the show Wheelchair friendly?
We have made every effort to make Wycrail a show that is accessible to all. All of the building is accessible to wheelchairs. There is a lift in the Atrium taking you to the first floor for access to the Sports Hall.
