00 – Shadwell East

SHADWELL EAST  – ’00’ Gauge 

Our second Junior Modellers layout project is well underway called Shadwell East based on an East London yard setting that can be operated through a range of different time periods from 1960s up to the present day.

Progress as at November 2025

Shadwell East is currently is now at the final scenic work stage, some of which is already been worked on off the layout.
Shadwell east made its public debut at the R&D MRC Haddenham Exhibition in September 2025 – a challenge but one that a combination of our Junior modellers and the ‘layout support team’ successfully met!

It has since been exhibited at our MRX 25 Autumn Show in November 2025 and the R&D MRC Risex show in February 2026.
It is booked to appear at The Hornby  magazine GETS show in Milton Keynes in October 2026.
